So if you haven’t noticed that gingham is one of the hottest trends of the Spring season, then you haven’t been paying attention. I’m telling you, print is everywhere right now. You might be asking “what is gingham,” well I will tell you. It is a lightweight fabric in a check print. The print is typically white with another color woven together, traditionally black, red, or blue.
Now a gingham print to me has always had a vintage vibe. Similar to a look that you would see from the 40s or 50s, which I love. I own one top in this print that is a short sleeve button up that I wear tied in a front knot. I like wearing this too with high waisted shirt or pants, which again highlights a more vintage look. So many of the gingham styles that I have seen lately are mostly in more modern styles and cuts.
So many cute tops, dresses, and rompers out there right now. I’ve come across cute bikinis and bathing suits in this print as well, which is perfect for these hot weather days. Additionally, I have noticed that many of these garments have ruffles or some other type of flare as well. So many tops in the OTS style and also include ruffles, puffed or bell sleeves. Skirts in this lovely fabric are in several different lengths with ruffle adornments as well. This season’s gingham is not your traditional style.
I have put together some of my favorite gingham items of the season so far, as well as links to where to purchase the items. So what do you think of gingham? Do you love it?
